Alma Rosa was born from a simple conviction: that the Santa Ynez Valley's unique coastal climate produces wines unlike anywhere else. Founded in 1997, we started with just two acres and a belief that small-batch winemaking could compete with the biggest names in the region.
Today, we tend over 25 acres of estate vineyards, all within the Lompoc city limits. Our vineyards sit in the path of the marine layer — that cool, salt-kissed fog that rolls in from the Pacific every evening and stays until mid-morning. That temperature swing is what gives our wines their signature balance: ripeness with restraint, power with grace.
We don't buy fruit from outside the valley. We don't rush the process. And we don't believe in making wine that looks like everyone else's. Every bottle from Alma Rosa carries the fingerprint of this place — the sand, the fog, the wind, the patience.
